We arrived at Jeanne and Mike's cabin to find that we were not the only guests checking out their new digs! We ran into Aunt Terry, Aunt Sue, and GRAMS!!!! ....Not to mention, Aunt Kathie and Uncle Jim who also made a debut 30 minutes after we arrived! I guess we just picked a good day to visit! :)
Tahoe....where do we even begin??!!! It was so Gorgeous while we were there (very different than the 10 feet of snow that welcomed us on our last Tahoe trip!) On Friday, Aunt Jeanne, Uncle Mike, Barb, Mike, Maisey, and I all went hiking on a trail called "The Rainbow Trail." We had a great time, and got some great pictures. After the hike, Mike and I separated from the group so I could show him more of Tahoe! We went to Emerald bay and Hiked Eagle falls. Maisey had the most fun playing in the waterfall! After hiking about 3 hours total (Rainbow trail and then Emerald bay) we decided we needed some grub! Us being first time parents of a pup where in search of a dog friendly environment. We ended up at the Bear Beach Cafe where we could eat outside. While we were waiting to be sat who did we run into?? None other than our Momma, Aunt Jeanne and Uncle Mike. I guess family's just think a like. :) After lunch we finished our day with crawdaddin' (Mike had never been), and driving around the lake. I showed him Cave Rock, the campsites, a flea market, casino's and most of the ski resorts as well as some shopping and a great Dog store we discovered for Maisey.
We got back to Grass Valley late Friday night after a very busy trip in Tahoe. Sat I took Mike to the Yuba River (again he had never been.) Sunday we stayed at home with Momma to recover, hangout, and just lounge and swim all day. Monday we went to the State Fair with My Dad and Sally. We had lots of fun checking out the livestock, exhibits, the insect house, rode the monorail and even ran into some good friends! Gotta love living in a small town! Tuesday we spent the day with friends hanging out and catching up, and I drove Mike all over Historic Nevada City and Grass Valley; then even drove him by Empire Mine (one of the oldest, largest and richest gold mines in California.) Wednesday we headed back to San Diego, but not without a few pit stops along the way. We took the 395 home (a first for us both), so there was lots to see along the way! All in all, it was a wonderful, busy trip! We are now home and back to reality....Mike is back in school and I'm back to work! Not sure what the next few months will bring for us, but we are ready! :) Enjoy our pictures from our trip and check back soon for more updates! :)
